Connexis wins Apprentice Employer of the Year Award!

We're delighted to have won the Apprentice Employer of the Year (Small Business) category at the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards!

Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin has never had its own apprenticeship awards... until now! New for 2024, this brand-new competition was created to shine a light on apprentices and the companies that proudly employ them.

Recognised for our commitment to apprenticeships.

Since 2009, four out of five of our engineers have joined us as apprentices.

We believe in identifying and nurturing talent that fits our company culture, and apprenticeships have been central to our recruitment strategy.

Our approach to apprenticeships:

• Real-world experience: Our apprenticeships offer hands-on experience from day one. They're not just shadowing; they're actively involved in projects and working with clients.
• Mentorship and support: Our apprentices receive dedicated mentoring and support from experienced team members, including our Technical Director, who himself started as an apprentice.
• Career progression: We're committed to providing opportunities for our apprentices to grow and develop within the company. All of our apprentices have stayed with the business following the completion of their apprenticeship. Several of our former apprentices have progressed into senior roles.
• Partnership with Telford College: We work closely with Telford College to ensure our apprenticeship programmes meet the highest standards.

Technical Director, Joe, said: “I’m so happy that Connexis won this award. I started as an apprentice fifteen years ago, when apprenticeships were far less common than they are today. If William and the team hadn’t taken a chance on an apprentice, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
